Asian Family Center of Portland, OR (AFC)
AFC, a multi-lingual/cultural, community-based center, was developed specifically to assist Asian youth and families in adjusting to American society.

 

Asian American Journalists Association - Portland Chapter (AAJA)
 

American Jewish Committee - Portland Chapter (AJC)
Devoted to Jews in the US and around the world, the American Jewish Committee's site contains information on Jewish history, holidays, and contemporary Jewish life.

 

Chinese American Citizens Alliance - Portland Lodge (CACA)
The Chinese American Citizens Alliance (CACA.) was founded.to promote citizenship, to better the Chinese community and to combat anti-Chinese sentiment. A non-partisan, non-profit organization, the CACA continues to champion civil and immigrant rights and the community's welfare while providing a rich program of activities for its members, their families, and friends.

 

International Refugee Center of Oregon (IRCO)
IRCO works to develop self-sufficiency and cultural awareness by assisting refugees, immigrants, and multi-ethnic communities in affirming and preserving each culture within an ever-changing global environment. Services include youth and family services, employment programs, community education, citizenship services, health & environmental outreach services, arts for new immigrants program, and the International Language Bank.

 

Japan America Society of Oregon (JASO)

Known simply as JASO (ja-zo), they are a private, non-profit, membership organization dedicated to promoting business, education, and cultural exchange and enhancing mutual understanding between the people of Japan, Oregon and SW Washington.

 

Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center (ONLC)

A non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon. The Legacy Center is a focal point for the preservation and sharing of the history and culture of the Japanese American community.

Portland Taiko

Established in 1994, Portland Taiko is a premiere North American taiko ensemble. Taiko (the Japanese word for drum and the name of the art form) has its roots in ancient Japanese tradition. Through artistic excellence and innovation in taiko, we affirm Asian American pride, inspire audiences, build community, and educate about our culture and heritage.
