Congressional Gold Medal Celebration, Washington, DC October 31st – November 3rd 2011
On May 13, 2009, Congressman Adam Schiff from California introduced the Congressional Gold Medal Bill HR 347 to award the CGM to the 100th Battalion and the 442nd Regimental Combat Team (RCT). Senator Barbara Boxer also from California introduced SB 1055 in the Senate.

Nikkei Community Picnic 2011
We had great food, a special thank you to the ladies of Ikoi no Kai who got up early to make 300 musubi (rice balls) for the picnic. We also had fabulous entertainment provided by the Portland Taiko’s youth group, Tanuki Taiko. And what is a picnic without Bingo?

2011 Minidoka Pilgrimage
June 30-July 3, 2011, almost 200 people journeyed to the annual Minidoka pilgrimage. This year was special for two very important reasons. First, the Minidoka Honor Roll was re-established at the entrance to the park.
