Join us in calling for #ReparationsNow

5/21 is part of a Week of Action sponsored by the new National Nikkei Reparations Coalition (NNRC), which includes Tsuru For Solidarity, National JACL, Nikkei Progressives, NCRR, NYDOR, San Jose Nikkei Resisters and other Japanese American organizations and organizers. Stay tuned for more information and mark for your calendar for:

MONDAY 5/23 Reparations Workshop at 5:00p PST / 8:00p EST - which will share education on the Reparations movement, the guiding principles for the National Nikkei Reparations Coalition, the call for an Executive Order, and get us prepped for the Wed 5/25 Day of Action

WEDNESDAY 5/25 Day Of Action featuring five 1-hour sessions throughout the day —from 9:00a-5:00p EST— where you will jump on the zoom with us, and be guided to make calls and e-mails to the White House, and share a few messages via social media.
Sample scripts, contact info, and all social media messages will be provided during each session.

Our entire Week of Action is in partnership with the H.R. 40 Coalition and the Noise campaign to draw awareness and public pressure for Pres. Biden to make an Executive Order to advance a Commission for the Study and Development of Reparations for African Americans.

The National Nikkei Reparations Coalition (NNRC) is a newly formed coalition – brought together by Nikkei Progressives, NCRR, National JACL, Chicago JACL, Tsuru for Solidarity, NY DOR, San Jose Nikkei Resisters, Portland JACL, and Seattle JACL– also includes Nikkei advocacy committees, JACL chapters, Tsuru for Solidarity groups, and activists in regions throughout the country. Our advisors include Black leadership from the Reparations Movement - Kenniss Henry, Dreisen Heath, Jarrett Smith, and Rev. Mark Thompson.

With COVID 19 mandates being lifted we are offerin

With COVID 19 mandates being lifted we are offering a training to help ease back into the world with confidence. With a generous grant from the JACL Legacy Fund we will be hosting an in-person program about personal safety and situational awareness which will include training in the use of personal alarms and pepper spray.

Please join us to help build the safety and confidence of our community.
