Oregon peace tree dedication in Hood River

April 30, 2022

The dedication of two ginkgo peace trees – planted from seeds of trees that survived the Hiroshima bomb in 1945 – will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 1pm at Idlewild Cemetery, 980 Tucker Road in Hood River.
The seedlings were made possible through the combined effort of the Oregon Department of Forestry, Oregon Community Trees and One Sunny Day Initiative, founded by Hiroshima survivor and Oregon resident Hideko Tamura Snider.  Nearly four dozen Hiroshima peace trees have been planted in 32 Oregon communities.
